About

When my fiancé and I moved into our first home, we inherited a beautiful, thoughtfully designed garden from the previous owners. As I began learning to nurture it and the trials and errors that come as a first-time gardener, I was captivated by the transformation it slowly underwent. I watched fireflies, hummingbirds, bees, and butterflies return, and I felt a profound sense of responsibility to provide a space where they could thrive. The garden soon became a thriving habitat, a sanctuary, not just for wildlife, but for me too.

My mother’s love and compassion for all living things deeply influenced me, and this garden sparked a desire to care for the environment on a larger scale. As I learned more about the importance of native plants, I noticed how underrepresented they were in the beauty industry. I wanted to change that. That’s when I realized I could bring my love for nature into a new space and share it with others. — This led to the creation of Mint & Poplar, a beauty brand utilizing the magic of native botanicals.

I am studying to become a certified formulator and herbalist, and my goal is to create luxury hair and skin products, providing the highest quality and delivering noticeable improvements in hair and skin health for you, while giving back to nature and Earth.

At Mint & Poplar, I want to inspire others to embrace native plants, whether in their own gardens or beauty routines. This brand is a way for me to share my journey, combining my love for all things beauty and a desire to protect our ecosystems.

Though our products are still in development, my mission is clear: to create high-quality, natural hair and skincare that nurtures not only your beauty but also our local ecosystems. By choosing Mint & Poplar, you’re supporting a brand that celebrates the magic of nature and the importance of native plants.

We know you are curious!

What makes Mint & Poplar products unique?

We noticed that while the beauty industry is saturated with exotic ingredients, there’s little focus on native botanicals. Mint & Poplar products are crafted with native plants and wildcrafted ingredients, highlighting the beauty and benefits of local botanicals. Our products emphasize sustainability, quality, and the power of plants that naturally thrive in our environment. Each formulation is designed not only to nurture your hair and skin but also to promote ecological balance.

What are native plants, and why are they important?

Native plants are those that naturally grow in a specific region and have adapted to the local environment over time. They play a vital role in supporting wildlife and maintaining ecosystems, providing essential food and habitat for native animals, birds, and insects. By using native plants in our products, we honor the natural beauty and ecological significance of these species.

Are your products organic?

Many of the ingredients we use are organically grown. We believe in transparency and quality, so we always list our ingredients and sourcing practices, allowing you to make an informed choice.

What does Wildcrafted mean?

This refers to the practice of harvesting plants, herbs, and other natural materials directly from their natural, wild habitats (legally!), rather than from cultivated or farmed sources.

In the beauty and wellness industry, wildcrafted ingredients are often sought after for their authenticity and connection to nature, appealing to those looking for natural and eco-friendly products.

So are your ingredients wildcrafted?

Our ingredients are carefully grown and harvested from our personal garden, cultivated with sustainable practices to protect local wildlife and ecosystems. While not technically wildcrafted, our process is the next best thing - using native plants that thrive in their natural environment, all with the same level of care and respect for nature.

Are Mint & Poplar products vegan and cruelty-free?

Yes! Our products are 100% vegan and cruelty-free. We’re committed to using plant-based ingredients, and we never test on animals.

How should I store my Mint & Poplar products?

To maintain freshness and potency, we recommend storing our products in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Our frosted glass bottles not only look beautiful but also help protect the natural ingredients from light exposure.

Are your products safe for sensitive skin?

We carefully formulate our products with gentle, natural ingredients that are well-tolerated by most skin types. However, as with any new product, we recommend patch-testing before full use if you have sensitive skin.

How can I learn more about the native plants used in your products?

We love sharing our passion for native plants! Follow us on Instagram and Facebook, where we post fun facts, benefits, and more about the ingredients we use. You can also subscribe to our newsletter for in-depth stories and information about our botanicals and sourcing practices.

How does purchasing Mint & Poplar products support the environment?

By choosing products made with native plants, you’re supporting sustainable practices that protect local ecosystems. We aim to inspire awareness and respect for native plants, encouraging a broader understanding of their importance in preserving biodiversity. We hope to encourage others to seek supporting the use and planting of natives, incorporate native plants into their own garden, or even start any kind of garden of their own!

What does Mint & Poplar mean?

Our name reflects our roots in nature, with "Mint" symbolizing purity and freshness and "Poplar" representing strength and longevity. It is also a nod to the street where our gardens all began.
